Spy & Anti Virus "Pop Up" problem |

My dad this morning was on the internet and got one of those pop ups that automatically installl onto the computer. I uninstalled some of the programs but there are still "POP UP" things running in the task bar area and I can't get rid of them and I can't find them on the PC.
PLEASE HELP!

It's happened to me before too... but I exited out of it very quickly and it didn't time to install. I have Windows XP Pro and I have anti-spy and virus protection and a firewall. Mine doesn't have the maleware atleast I don't think so I've never seen on the computer.
