Hello friends, I'm back, for today at least.
You don't need to create a new religion to have a gay marriage. The United Church of Christ supports Gay Marriage. The thing is, there are two types of marriage: marriage in the church and marriage in the state. The government deals with government in the state, the church deals with government in the church. Two separate things. So if your church allows gay marriage, it doesn't mean that you can apply for a marriage certificate from the government. Likewise, if your government supports gay marriage, it doesn't mean your religion has to recognize it. Debate over. |
