Okay okay. Once again, I have another problem. I've recently met a guy, and he's admitted to liking me and wants us to go on a date this weekend. If it wasnt for his age, I wouldnt be second guessing myself like this. Buuuuut,
He turns 17 next month, is a junior, has amazing morals that I envy, and has his own car/drives. I'm 18, turning 19 in July. I'm a senior. I cant drive, nor do I have a car or job. Basically, I'm young for my age. I've been told by my sister and a few friends that me going out with him would make me look bad. What do you think, and what should I do? |

Your situation really does sound a lot like my friend's. Not that the girl came from a Christian school, but the guy's in band, and the girl didn't join color guard until her senior year. My band was really cliquey, so it's not like everyone didn't more or less know each other, or that people weren't aware of who everyone else was dating. Are you afraid that people would have a problem with it because he'd be a minor and you aren't? I'll refrain from statutory rape jokes, but f**k the law; people really have no right to object, because there's nothing objectionable about it. Don't let other people deter you, only avoid a relationship with this kid if you are sincerely uncomfortable with the age difference...which it doesn't sound like you are, since you do point out ways in which you're not on the same level (for lack of a better term) as other people your age.
