Right now, Little Brother has been creepin' on the come up like a harmonizing quartet from Cleveland. But, these country brothas don't harmonize while talking about weed, death and being broke. They're the closest thing to rapping about everyday life since The Pharcyde. Rappers Pooh and Phonte both have easygoing, mellow deliveries, and what they may lack in lyrical intricacy, they make up for inn subject matter.

Their first two albums; The Listening and The Minstrel Show; were produced by the highly accalimed 9th Wonder. Since moving away from 9th, they've still been able to maintain their buzz, as well as their standard (perhaps even raising it a bit). For those ignorant to the undergroundstream (underground that could be mainstream and deserves to be for the sake of success but isn't because the artist hasn't sold out), Little Brother should be a group that you needs to f**ks with.

DOOM can't comprehend why grown men, doing grown men things, would consider themselves children. Even evil geniuses have problems deciphering shit that comes from left field, sometimes. Its all good. Its time for another installment of underground doper skiller type shit. In the wee hours of the night, DOOM gets down. When the morning rolls around, he gets some beers, beef and a double shot of hiphop.

Here's the basic overview; two college students get their minds right at an Ivy League college, and they're Black. Negroez. Not SUNY, or Newark Community College, but the University of Pennsylvania. Doom sees education as the pinnacle of a functioning society. Naledge, the emcee of the duo (Naledge is spelled wrong. You should have gone to MOREHOUSE), and Double-0 is the DJ Producer. A duo set up in classic form.

Hmmm...

They send out mixed signals. Overall, its 'generic decent hiphop' if such a genre exists. The duo is acting as the resurgence of Rawkus records, and the sound is very reminiscent of Pharaohe Monch's Rawkus days and from what has been floating around the internet airwaves and getting dropped on your neighborhood mixtapes is a sound that brings you back to Soundbombing 2 in '99. Then, there's their new single entitled 'Driving Down the Block.' The style and the sound flipped like a gymnast to a more mainstream and marketable vibe. These kidz still may have a lot to learn in this game, but all in all, you would gain more from listening to them vice listening to Little Wayne.
