While I was checking my MSN mail, I came across one of the most recent health news (which is why I didn't know where to put this...health...news...health...news...) Anyway, it was about what makes our brown eyes blue. I found it to be quite interesting. Suppoisvely, we all had brown eyes about (insert 5678768 years here). Its a maternal gene.

darker skinned people don't get as much skin cancer too, i think. Actually, no. People believe that darker skin protects them from skin cancer, but that's not necessarily true. It's just that on lighter skin, sun-burns, rashes, etc. are much more apparent. It's recommended that everyone wear some sort of sunscreen to protect against the sun's (UVA & UVB) rays. This does not include those who are sensitive to the sun or albinos, since that would include a skin condition, in which case effects are much more server. |
