I know the Books forum isn't the most popular forum around, but there are quite a few who frequent to discuss books they are reading or have read. I think it would be nice if CB catered to them to, since most other forums have their own clubs or competitions or something. We could have like a book a month...obviously this would require the participants to go out and buy the book, but one book a month really isn't that much and it would motivate us all to read more.

^I don't think JC would be willing to take even a few seconds out of his life to consider reading Twilight. if this actually happens, i'm almost 90% sure it'll be recommended A LOT, even though the majority of the members would have already read it.
![]() and since there's already been options thrown out there (michelle...) Jude by Kate Morgenroth (I think guys and girls would absolutely love this one) I also think it would be cool to kinda have another group (inside the book club) that starts with series and such...but once it's started, nobody else could join. basically...they're a part of the club, and read the book everybody else is reading, but ALSO, within they're little "group" that they form, they start reading a series and have their own discussion and kind of plan their own schedule. they can be shorter series, such as the Twilight series, or longer ones, Such as the Anita Blake: Vampire Hunter series (if this happens, i'm totally starting this one). or it could even be a group reading from one author. OH. one more think. what about Biographies/Autobiographies? for one of the months, I think it would be neat to let everybody pick a Biography or Autobiography. each person picks a different one, of course. and like every week, i guess, somebody "in charge" of the book club can post like a journal question, asking for certain details about their book, and each individual will have to write a paragraph (or more if they choose), answering the journal. some would be like: Characterize your person. Is there any way you can relate to this person? How/How not? Why do you think this particular person chose to write about their selves? (autobiography Why do you think the author chose to write about this particular person? (biography) catch my drift? so, pretty much, i think the book club should be a little more involving, such as you actually have to participate in things, not just read the book. |
