i think it's more common now.
all the second borns in my family have eczema and i have a few friends who have it too or someone in their family does.


i've had it since i was born. it was terrible when i was little but i didn't have it too severely. i've kind of grew out of it. but in the fall/winter my skin breaks out. it sucks cause it's really apparent on my face. my body does not have it except my inner elbows and knuckles (which sucks, i can't wear rings, because it would then draw attention to it)

for my face, i literally moisturize constantly in the winter! and i can't wear make up to hide it either since my skin will like flake and appear even more dry. so i just bear it.

i did use this one prescription ointment, i forgot what it's called but i've stopped for now. it bleached parts of my face and now i have these weird blotches. my doctor just told me to wait the winter out.

i was wondering if anyone else has it here too?
when was it worst for you?
what was it like in your childhood?
what is it like now?
how do you treat unexpected breakouts?
doesn't the winter just suck?
what lotions/creams/prescription ointments do you use?

i have it && i hate it. i had a really severe case when i was younger. i was made fun of constantly for it. there were days i didnt go to school because i was embarassed. i would lie to ppl when they asked me what it was. i used to tell them i got burned or something stupid like that. im 21 now && its not as bad as it used to be, but im still embarassed by it. not as much as before since im sitting here telling you about it, but i dunno.. i dont tell anyone i have it && if anyone asks what it is i just tell them its dry skin, which yeah..its what it is. but i hate to say "i have eczema." it makes me feel like i have a disease, which is the way other ppl made me feel when i was younger too.
