i understand asking questions elicits responses from others, not only that but emotions as well. But how really do you get others to open up in conversation...getting them comfortable with you?

Some people are just shy and they will open up to you when they are ready. I usually let people know I am trustworthy so that over time they learn to trust me. It's not the fastest method, but I think it's the most effective.
