i understand asking questions elicits responses from others, not only that but emotions as well. But how really do you get others to open up in conversation...getting them comfortable with you?

Ask them questions you think they would feel comfortable asking in return, like them:"blahblah, and what about you?" If that makes sense, theyll open up after a little bit.
