I have. It's like the best book ever.

The book was about a million times better than the movie. Although the movie seemed like it cut out a lot of things from the book, it still felt wordy and needed too much verbal explanation. The movie was far too literal; it's like you didn't need to think at all, what with the complete lack of metaphors and symbolism as per other great movies. I felt like I was watching a movie where they were just reading lines from the book. I mean, if I want to hear someone say lines from a book, I'd rather read the book. In a movie, I'd rather see visual interpretations of a novel.
Also, Tom Hanks looked really gross with the hair (you might appreciate Audrey Tatou, though). Truly the most disappointing book-to-movie film I've ever seen. |
