Today, January 16th 2007, is Aaliyah's 29th birthday. She passed away August 25th, 2001 (just one month before the 9/11 attacks) in a plane crash in the Bahamas. Despite her short career, she sold over 15 million records in the U.S. and over 20 million worldwide. She has truly helped shape the sound of R&B during the 1990's.
