Mom is strict. Options

So, my mom is REALLY strict with me for I don't know why. Basically, since I stopped going to church, she doesn't trust me at all. This up-coming Friday is a school dance at my former school and my boyfriend is taking me. Obviously, my mom now knows about him, but she treats me like I'm five. Last night, I went to the mall with friends. She yelled at me saying my boyfriend isn't suppose to be there, but he didn't show up because he went elsewhere [loser]. And, she wants to take me to the place where the dance is being held. But, what about the whole lots and llots of pictures and putting on the corsage for the girl when the guy comes over? She sacts like my only friends are only girls. OBVIOUSLY, at the age of SIXTEEN, I have male friends, too.

What do I do?

My mom used to be like that, if I ever wanted to meet a friend anywhere, she would give me the twenty questions about him/her and then give me that stupid suspicious look. She's chilled out a lot, though, ever since my junior year in HS when I started "rebelling." I'm not telling you to do what I did... but I think running away from home several times a month really did a lot to make her give up on controlling me, lol.

I'd suggest trying to talk it out with her. It's not really a big deal. You're only sixteen... wait a year or so and she'll probably cool off. And there's plenty of other dances you can go to when that happens.
