My computer hasn't come yet, but it's an HP Pavilion Tablet and I heard that HPs come with a bunch of programs that slow your computer down. I've been playing around with my grandfather's HP and think I should be able to delete most from Control Panel / Add Remove Programs, etc., but I've been reading up on it and a lot of people say that the best way to get rid of shit is to restore, reinstall Windows Vista, etc.
I suck at anything computer related if it has to do with ... fixing and installing things into my computer. So I was just wondering if anybody has an HP and thinks that it works fine without reinstalling Windows without the bloatware. Or if just deleting extraneous trials and programs from the Control Panel works fine. //edit: sorry, I guess this goes in technology. |

just go down the list and uninstall what you don't want or need. my computers are empty except the necessary drivers, adobe-macromedia suite, microsoft office suite, aim, and maybe some antivirus/anti spyware and games.
then edit your startup list (run >> msconfig >> starup tab) and uncheck stuff you don't need (you should probably google each program if you don't know what they do). if you want even faster performance, you could disable all the unnecessary graphics and effects for xp or vista. after you delete a bunch of crap on your pc, you should defrag, so do that afterwards. |
