im scared-how long does she have? Options

elsie - someone who i call my auntie, has been a very close family friend. she came into our family ages ago. and one yr she had a fall at work. Then, everything with her went wrong.Shes been sick ever since. I think she has cuncusion.(sorry i cant spell). She says she has to go into hospital soon for an operation to remove this lump on her back. She says shes just giving up and she doesn't know how much time she has left. She feels everyone is turning against her and shes down by the fact that if and when she comes back home from this operation she wont have anyone to look after her. So she is looking for a place. I am really sad. Lately we werent talking. Then i made up with her, but things arent the same. I kind of blurted out something i shouldnt have - which was true, but shes upset. I'm scared.She has always been like a mother to me and i dont want to let her go. Then again, we were soo close, and every little thing i do, like go to someone else for advice, she acts lyk a complete baby and gets upset. She doesnt understand that i am growing up.

It's better not to say anything at all, trust me. Being in a hospital isn't a time to be sharing everything you've ever thought about her, or whatever you're saying that makes her upset. Be adamant, and tell her to concentrate on getting well and that she shouldn't worry about such petty things. Just because she says that she wants it doesn't mean that she really wants to hear it.
