Since you've already filled out your FAFSA, you've made the biggest step and a lot of people can stop here. Depending on where you go to school, the aid you receive from filling out your FAFSA might cover all of your tuition. If not, I would look into student loan options and try to find something with a lower rate - if you can get someone with good credit to co-sign, you'll get an even better rate.
Filling out your FAFSA will automatically tell your school what grants you're eligible for - the federal PELL grant is the most well-known, but there are others depending on where you live and what your financial situation is. Your grants that you receive will most likely not be enough, though, so another thing you apply for by submitting a FAFSA is probably the Stafford Loan - the school figures out automatically if you're eligible, without you having to do anything else. Basically, the school will find out what federal grants and loans are available to you automatically, without you having to do anything else. If you're still short on covering tuition and fees, you may get a private loan, but you may not need to. =] |
