I sure hate them, especially Walmart gift cards. I don't like being limited to one store. And those gift cards you can use anywhere too, why not just give out cash?

I adore Barnes & Noble gift cards, and I wouldn't mind a Starbucks one either.
 I know they're usually viewed as being impersonal, BS gifts but I like them.
