I have intentions of traveling to Europe in the near future for an extended period of time, but the continent is huge, so I'd like everyone's opinions of European countries they've visited and where they had the most fun/what they did/etc. Because I can't see the entire continent, I'm in the process of creating a list of specific places to visit.
If you have been to multiple countries, what was your favorite place? How did you spend your time, and how much did you like it there? So far, I'm considering France, Greece, Italy, Ireland, and Spain, but if anyone has a more "exotic" place in Europe that's underrated, feel free to share. Also, I've been trying to figure out for the past thirty minutes what those rides were wherein you get into a boat-like object, and you start pedaling on the water to move yourself, so it's a pedal-motored vehicle. What are those called? |

I liked Germany, but Rome and Venice are a definite.

We went to about 5 different cities in Italy, but Rome and Venice are my absolute favorites. Venice is SO picturesque. You _must_ go for a gondola ride around the canals. As for Rome... wow... I just remember going around the city at night and every single thing I saw made my jaw drop. It doesn't even matter if you're not interested in seeing the typical tourist attractions (I'm certainly not), it'll still amaze you. Plus, there are a lot of great places to shop there! :) I got beautiful boots there for only 20 euros. |
