When doing the "overlay effect" i usually did it on CS3. But now i only have cs2 and its completly different. I go to.."group into smart object" Filter>gausion blur and then i try to right click the smart object to give the effect. Just a quick question. How in the flip do i get that on cs2? Any help would be very appreciated. biggrin.gif

It's the same thing? Duplicate the picture, so that there are two of them. Go to Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur, and adjust the settings to your liking on the second picture. Then click on the blurred layer, and right above it will be a scroll-down menu of all of the layer effects. Click that and go to, "Overlay" and then merge the layers together.
