is anyone else paranoid when it comes to updating or changing something on ur computer?
i am, i don't know what my deal is but i always put off updating things. i think because my general feeling is that if it isn't broken, i shouldn't try to fix it. i'm always afraid i'm going to do an update, and something is going to go wrong and screw me over. i just updated the firmware on my comp, finally. of course, it had to have all these stupid directions about holding some button until something else happened. those kinda directions make me even more paranoid about screwing up. then my comp made some loud beeping noise that nearly gave me a heart attack. we survived it though. so yeah, are u one of those people who loves to keep everything up to date at all times, or someone who puts it off out of fear or just laziness? oh yeah, and i hate updates because the majority of the time it's not anything noticeably different. that pisses me off, i wanna see that i accomplished something. |

No, not really. I change aspects of my computer, hardware or software, all of the time. I don't worry about what it will do, as i am always protected. i installed service pack three for XP as soon as it was "available." I change my computer's hardware at least twice a year. I continuously change the interface i use for my computer. However, all "essential" items are stored on separate drives, and not the main drive. it's statistically more likely that your main, Windows drive will fail than any other, as it seems far more activity -- spinning up and down all of the time.
