Private Messages, Bad word?

I feel as though we should change the name of 'private messages'.

1. It says private. That is definitely not acceptable by any standards in today's society.

2. When typed in abbreviations, it's PMs, but some people just put pms. How disheartening to women is that?

3. I mean really, it's time for a chance.

A scenario is usally backed with an opinion. But oddly enough, on the site I went to before this one, "buddypic.com" They were not PMs they were BPs.. Which would be the abbreviation of a "Buddy Pic" which doesn't really have anything to do with a message of any sort.

There's always the option to not abbreviate the word, or simply call it a message. The only thing that can go wrong is someone could say they gave you a massage.. shrug.gif
