This topic is for:
-Stating you opinions on going green. Wheather you disagree or agree. -Stating your opinions on Peta [Yes, I do feel its relevant with going green, eat it if you disagree.] This topic is not for: -Saying stupid one liners that don't make sense at all. -Bashing others for not liking Peta/The green world and vice versa. Now, with that being said I'm to state my opinons on this. :] I think its lame that all of the celebrities an like their little followers are just being glorified as that greatest things in the world just because they all of the sudden went green. I don't feel that they deserve to be glorified when they probably do the most damage to the earth. I also don't like how its an in thing, its kinda lame and I didn't think it would bother me this much. Yet, it does, it's like every where I turn its Jessica Simpson gave so much money to this green charity or Fergie sold her Hummer. I think its great that they want to change the world but I feel like its all for press. |

I hate PETA. With a terrible horrible passion.
PETA targets their videos and their words to impressionable teenagers who want to rebel from what they have been otherwise taught. On their website for teens (Peta2.com) every page says "Question Authority". This is a direct quote from the PETA2 board. QUOTE Dear Rage, I recently went into my high school cafeteria with a friend and was appalled to see a milk poster. They weren’t hurting anyone, but to support milk so openly to me seems very offensive. And to top it off, they were encouraging you to drink milk to win prizes. I want these posters removed immediately, and I was wondering how I could go about this. Please help me! —Milk Sux Dear Milk Sux, Wow, how to get posters removed ... hmmm, geez, that IS a toughy. How does one go about removing pieces of paper—perhaps laminated, maybe poster board or cardboard—that are stuck to the wall with, say, tape or thumbtacks? What to do, what to do ... um, I know! RIP THEM DOWN. I mean, hellooo? You’re on peta2.com, you’re supposed to be questioning authority! Now, since that may be a little too bold for some of the wimpier among you, you could go this route, too, I suppose (but keep in mind that ripping them down is definitely the punk rock thing to do): OK, arrange to meet with the head of the cafeteria staff and let ’em know that you want the posters removed because you find them offensive and, more importantly, why. Arm yourself with the facts before you go in there—you don’t want them to realize how daft you really are, so be ready.... Oh, but one of the worst I have seen from them is this. In which PETA tells kids "your mommy kills animals". Kids are told to "join PETAs army of animal rights rebels" and encourage them to act (even if it breaks the law). They have went so far as to hand out "unhappy meals" and "Buckets of blood" while children left fast food restaurants. PETA even targets the youngest children saying that The Three Little Pigs and Cinderella exploit animal rights. I could stomach all that, if you have a weak mind then you DESERVE to be brainwashed by PETAs desperate measures. But, the fact that they have killed OVER 10,000 animals they received since 1998 makes me f**king sick. They are supposed to adopt animals out but in their mission statement it says they don't want ANYONE to own animals QUOTE Even people who care about animals are often unable to recognize or meet animals' many needs. Domesticated animals are in a catch-22 situation--they can no longer survive on their own, yet they retain many of their basic instincts and drives. Usually, they are isolated from their natural packs. Their bodies and souls yearn to roam--but, for safety's sake, they are confined to a house or yard, always dependent on their guardians, even for a drink of water, food to eat, or social contact. In closing, PETA is a terrible organization that doesn't hold much sway over people that know what the f**k is going on. They use scare tactics, law breaking, and edginess to draw people in rather than the facts. I am against abusing animals. I am also against making over 25 million dollars a year because of it. |

Wow, they are so pathetic. I guess Peta's nto that great of an organization after all. QUOTE do you recycle? Yes, my brother and I recycle, but my parents dont, so we just throw it in with my aunt's stuff. |
