What if your in the scenario where you and your significant just got into a small argument about lying to each other but after awhile you guys agreed to stop lying.
Then he says I love you for the very first time in his life. But after agreeing not to lie, you can't really say I love you back because you don't. What would you say? What would you do? |

Depends how long and intimate the relationship is.. Or how far it's progressed. Even if the significant other says "I love you", one does not know for sure how strong that "I love you" truly is. Numerous times have I heard people toss around those three little words, and it becomes meaningless shortly after.
If those meaningful words are not truly felt by you, then don't say it. Even if he means it or is lying. If you don't truly feel it, then don't say it. And I concur that the scenario does seem vague. Even if the significant other means what s/he says, there is no obligation to reciprocate. But once again, it depends on the circumstances. |
