how much did you guys pay for your prom dresses?? is $300 good enough for a perfect prom dress?? hahaha.. you know what... how much did you pay for prom?! that includes the dress shoes jewelry and other stuff needed.. |

I don't get these dress-up games where girls go all out and spend so much money on one single day that won't affect them later in life. I completely bailed out on prom because I couldn't be bothered to do my hair. I don't regret it to this day.

But its a thing most people like to do, its not my thing hence why I plan on skipping my prom but a lot of people enjoy it. So I help.. my friend paid about $350 on her dress,shoes, etc last year. |

I kind of agree. But its a thing most people like to do, its not my thing hence why I plan on skipping my prom but a lot of people enjoy it. So I help.. my friend paid about $350 on her dress,shoes, etc last year. Yeah, a lot of girls are into this type of stuff. I'm not discounting it or regarding the girls as "naive" for wanting to dress up. It's just the whole notion of paying so much money to dance with a guy that sounds a bit ridiculous to me. I'm not exactly a "celebrator," so I don't see the appeal in congratulating myself by being a consumer-driven person on prom, senior anything, and weddings. Everything has become more secular and materialistic now, I think. When I go to proms or weddings, it's less spiritually fulfilling than it is materialistic. If that makes sense. |
