Apparently, a 5.6 Earthquake hit in Alum Rock/San Jose area in California, @ 8:02PM. It lasted for 15-20 seconds and there might be an aftershock in 72 hours that can be 6.3/6.4
My mom hella freaked, she yelled and made us go outside. And she went back inside to get papers/money (ROFLMAO, TYPICAL ASIAN MOM WHO FREAKS OUT TOO EASILY) and by the time she came outside, it was done. LOL. |

Eeek. I wouldn't want to be in an earthquake. Then again, people who move/visit here don't know how we don't freak out when tornados are happening.

Eeek. I wouldn't want to be in an earthquake. Then again, people who move/visit here don't know how we don't freak out when tornados are happening. Tornados get some warning... earthquakes can't be predicted. I lived down south with the 6.6 hit, it broke my TV which bummed me out, but other than broken tile and mirrors and dishes it wasn't terrible... at least for me. In Paso Robles major buildings collapsed and two people died. I think Northern California and the Bay Area are more prepared for major earthquakes, on the central coast I feel like we just don't want to think about them. After that one we've generally had at least one large earthquake a year, nothing more than a 4 though. I live in Santa Cruz by myself though now, I thought my house was gonna tumble down the mountain when that one hit two weeks ago. When it was over I just thought it was kinda lame. Nothing broke, the power didn't go out, the water still worked, the phones were still on. Sheesh. |
