i'm currently in a long distance relationship as well w/ my b/f who is in the air force... so of course he goes away a lot & he's currently gone right now... i say that they DO work if u try & make it work. if u really love & trust each other, then yeah...
it's REALLY hard to deal w/ the whole situation, but love  always finds a way. :)
