Need a girl's advice, Awkward silences |

So...I need a girl's or a boy's advice.So I like this girl but then whenever I talk to her either it be phone,aim,real life there would always be awkward silences through the conversation.I try to end it by saying how was your day or what are you doing.But those 2 are basically all I have to end silences.Anyone have any ideas how to end these silences?Like any topics I could bring up to talk about etc. I'd appreciate the help

Hm..I'm trying to communicate with her more in real life of course but I don't see her often sometimes at school is basically where I see her the most maybe when I see her at the movies I'll hang out with her and some friends because we all basically know each other well enough to hang together.Well keep it coming because a lot of this is really helping me out and it's not bad to have more information.
