i got a new puppy. he's 22 weeks old. he's a friggin sweetheart. when i leave the house, my parents say he's fine. he doesnt fuss. he scratches the door for a minute, but then gives up and goes and plays by himself. but then when i come home, he's always following me. i got home at 12 last night, and he kept scratching at the door, trying to get into my room. we were gonna and try to let him roam free around the house until he went to sleep, but i couldnt sleep with all the scratching. i put him back in his kennel, and he just threw himself against the door and barked and cried all night. finally this morning at 5, i let him out and he slept on my bed with me and was pretty still, until he heard my mom wake up and wanted to know who was outside.

i cant get him to shut up at night. i've tried EVERYTHING. i didnt have this much trouble with my other dog (that i gave to my cousin). I've tried a warm water bottle and a radio beside his kennel, but that didnt work. that usually worked for my last dog. i know i'm supposed to ignore him when he barks and shit because he has to get used to being alone at night, but i can't f**kin sleep because my walls are paper thin! i'm just lucky i'm not working right now and i dont have to get up early in the mornings (i just quit my job the other day). my parents said they couldnt hear him from their room. wtf! their room is RIGHT across from mine. are their walls thicker or some shit? jesus f**k.

the woman i got him from said he was trained to a doggy door. but we dont have one in our house so we're just trying to train him to a litter box outside. i trained my other dog the same way, but this one is like.... i'll sit with him at the box for like 10-15 minutes. as soon as i decide to go back inside with him, because i figure he just doesnt need to go yet, he poops or pees inside. we're lucky our house is all tile and hardwood.

he also likes to bite and scratch at things and my room is really not doggy proofed. if i leave my door open he'll just try and jump on the bed with me but its too high, so he just makes a huge ruckus. he doesnt want to go away.

i guess i should just bring him to an obedience class.
