Also yay science lesson time :D Forest fires are often stopped at the very start, no matter how minor they are. This allows everything, shrubs etc, to grow and prosper. When a fire comes and ignites these shrubs, the fire grows incredibly quick and is near impossible to contain. By letting smaller fire run through the forest, the brush is thinned out considerably and prevents the fuel for these large fires. |
