do the layout designers (of the complicated layouts like the div overlay) go to classes to learn this stuff? is this considered web design? or do you guys just go through tutorials? i know the basics, but man would i love to be able to do all those image mapping and things! what programs do you use?
thanks! |

It's quite possible to teach yourself the basics, and go from there. The resources and references available online (and offline) are awesome - so classes aren't exactly needed if you just want to web design for a hobby.
If it's more serious web-design (re - doing it for commercial purposes or you're thinking of a career in design) then classes are probably your best bet. I use Photoshop/Imageready - but I had to find a few tutorials (how to slice images, how to image map, load brushes etc) when I first got the package. Search! |
