UR BEST GUYFRIEND/GIRLFRIEND like likes YOU, what would you do? Options

i made this topic because, my best guyfriend likes me.
I've known that for awhile now, but he doesnt know that.
And sometimes i feel so awkward and weird around him, like i don't
what to do or talk about.
We haven't been talking for awhile, we've been kinda distant.
And I'm not so sure why, maybe its me?
Because he says I've changed, like i wouldnt go up to him and say "hi"
whenever i see him.
But maybe it's just my feelings around him that holds me back.
He's a real nice friend, very honest,smart,reliable,funny,a gentlemen, and one of my friends that sometimes truly understand me.
What should I do?

All the guys ive gone out with were my best guy friend in one time or another and it doesnt really destroy the friendship if it does then you must of have not had a really strong friendship. And plus the guy im with now like i said was my best guy friend at ive lasted almost a year. Usually your guy friends i think im my opinion are the best to go out with because they already know you and if they like you well they like you for who you are and you dont have to be someone you're not.

Actually, we were very, very good friends throughout high school, and remained close afterword, until we went out.
The reason why it destroyed the friendship was because of the way we handled the break up. Since neither one of us knew how to proceed....we just drifted apart due to lack of communication and akwardness.
Lack of communication affects everyone including bestfriends going out.
Thats why I would rather not go out with my bestfriend, since I normally see friends who went out with each other just fade away and not remain friends.

best friends going out though, do have its bonuses. Already know each other, have an idea on who the person is, ect.

i have a thing for my best male friend and we've even brought up the subject but he gave me a not yes, not no.

oh and the drama/obstacle in our friendship going further is I had relations with his older brother.
