I believe metal is because of the dynamics involved.

Such bands as Dragon Force, Lamb of God, Mastodon, Arch Enemy and such. Debate.

Yes, this is a debate. Why are such genre's so great? What about them makes them better than others, and why?

metal may not be my preferred choice in music, but you HAVE to have talent to be a metal artist.

the guitar licks, and drum kicks...
there's no sampling a beat, there's no laying down a track to a prerecorded beat on a keyboard or a computer.
it is pure, raw, fingers bleeding, carpel tunnel syndrome in the wrists and ankles (drummer).
especially speed metal (like dragon force).

you don't have to LIKE the music to admit that you gotta have talent to do it.

I'd have to agree. There's more emotion (generally) in Metal music. Great lyrics and you have to have some kickass skills to play... the energy is the best. A lot of popular music has a track that someone sings to, and most don't write their own lyrics, but with metal it's the total opposite. I'd say I have to love the fans, esspecially where I live, because metal's not that popular here, so that makes for some of the best fans. They actually have to put effort into finding the newer stuff... unlike popular music that's there whenever you turn on MTV or tune into the radio.
