Ex-staff, curious Options

Well I've been thinking and stuff and I was just curious for all the ex-staffies to come up and post their personal thoughts of when they were on staff and why they stepped down.

Do you think that they asked to much of everyone on staff, considering being on staff is a volunteering thing? Or was it just the people and the conflicting attitudes that always happened when new decisions came up and no one could come to an agreement that made all parties happy?


Please I only want the opinions of ex-staff members or members who thought of becoming staff but put that idea past them (for what reason)

lol I don't think anyone even remembers me being part of the staff -- I was gone for a while.

The Reason that I left staff was that I was inactive for a while. School and work was taking up too much of my time, but I was pretty active during one last hiring session when I was an administrator. Then I disappeared and got booted to Mentor and then booted to Official Member. That didn't bother me so much, as I didn't have much to contribute anymore. I was an administrator for quite some time, actually. It might've been around 2005 to 2006-ish, but still it was fun. I'd have to say that there wasn't so much drama back then as there is now (what with so many people leaving staff at the same time), but I've had my fair share. There were some sahdy things happening, but I still remember. Strings were pulled, and even to this day, there are lies behind some words. But I won't get into that since some people get pretty defensive.

Expectations - Yea, activity was important. I did post a lot and I used to be really close with the community -- not that anyone remembers though. But hey, if any of you still have xmas cards from 2005 from me, haha you all are cool. <3 Being an admin let me see who was active and who wasn't, and I was glad to know that when I was active, I did a lot of moderating. Not so much was expected of me, but I did what I thought was best for the community. It's funny because even though I was an admin, my voice wasn't as strong as others (people staff, design, etc.). I felt that by being admin, I only had to regulate the forums, upload skins, help people, etc. I had to be impartial to a lot of things because I never wanted to seem power hungry.

Trish - Actually, Headstaff has been around since forever. Seon Ho and Gina were originally head staff, but I joined the staff before you, so maybe you missed it. Lookitskim was promoted to head Staff after Gina left, then Seon Ho I think he got demoted or requested to be demoted? I forget. Anyways, I was nominated shortly after when LookitsKim Kim became admin, And Roxanne was Head Staff along with me. I think Kathleen might've been Head Staff too -- my memory is a slipping.
It's because member want representation that the nomination and voting process happened. And the whole James thing as well.

Nicki - You probably shouldn't bring up the James thing anymore. I know way too much for my own good

Gigi - I really appreciated you on staff. You did do a lot, but you weren't on staff for that long. :/

Tung - I don't know Anna in real life, as I have never met her in real life, but I never had crazy beef with her, like others did. She was nice to me, although she does have her moments. But yea besides all the scandals, when I chatted with her on the phone, it was fun.

Yanlin - I left before you came on, I think. And even then, I was inactive, so I didn't really see much of anyone, anyway. :/

Holly - There were times where conflicting attitudes did go pretty extreme. Like I said, I know too much for my own good, and being impartial, people felt the need to tell me things to join their side of the cause. I always had to be careful with my words, as it could easily be turned around. Power trips did happen, but nothing major ever happened. The funny thing is that, I was pretty close with Kim (lookitskim) and Jusun when these things happened. It wasn't necessarily about new decision coming up -- we usually just had some poll/voting in the back. And even then, it was okay because I think there was a sense of trust that we all had. That, OR it was where no one really cared about the decisions because voluntarily joining cB staff was something we did for fun and it felt cool to have duties, I guess. It wasn't such a big deal. Things were slightly more lenient back then, but there were different people in the past.
