I don't know if the standards have changed since I last checked, but I know originally this was done by changing the favicon.ico file on your site root. In other words, for it to show for http://mywebsite14352646.com, you should have the icon saved at http://mywebsite14352646.com/favicon.ico. You'll probably want to also do that, if possible, just in case.

how do i save my icon to for example "http://mywebsite14352646.com/favicon.ico"?

i'm putting it on my xanga. it doesnt work at IE but works well on firefox.
