Well anyways, I was at the Cheese Cake factory today for lunch. I came in to the place starving. Anyway, this pretty girl leads me to my seat, I sit down and she tells me my waiter or waitress will be right with me. Typical stuff, until I saw my waiter. Haha, my waiter was the kid who had teased me for years in high school.
Let me tell you a little bit about how I met this kid. A long time ago, about five years ago (I was 16), I entered into the Computer Networking Vocational Program (Cisco network Academy) at a local Boces. It was awesome. I was so happy to get accepted. This program would shape my career for the rest of my life. After all, that is what I do today. I'm a network administrator at a CPA Firm and I make a lot of money for my age (My official title is Desktop and Network Support Specialist). Well, this kid went to the same class as me except he was one year ahead of me, and thought he was the bees knees. This kid thought he knew everything. It really pissed me off. I mean, he would f**k up all our computers so we couldn't fix them. He would make all the screens display themselves sideways, and uninstall the video card drivers. We were real newbies so we didn't know what to do. He would stand and watch us as we tried to fix our computers and fail. I was the only kid to out smart him. One day I got sick of it, pulled the hard drive from his PC, and hid it. He had to do all his work over again, and when he found out it was me it was war. Every day he would pick on me, and every day I said nothing. There was nothing I could do except piss him off. He knew more about computers than me and there was nothing I could do about it. I was literally forced to reformat my school hard drive every day. I did just that. Eventually he left (graduated), and I stayed behind. I helped people learn, but mostly kept to myself. With all the trouble shooting I had gone through (due to that a-hole), I had learned more about these things than any other kid in the class. I graduated, went to college, graduated, and got my first job in the IT field. Back to the Cheese Cake factory. It was that kid. That kid who had teased me for all these years. He was waiting on me hand and foot. I don't think he realized it was me. I didn't tell him, because I knew he would have spit in my food. I grinned inside. I felt so satisfied to know that I had one. I was a more successful person than he would probably ever be. It's times like these that make me feel like all the hard work I did in high school paid off. Haha, fuck that kid. I think I'll go back there tomorrow, and say hello. :] |
