I'm in dire need of a job this year and I was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions on general places that would be hiring, or just put your 2 cents on my situation.
I'm in Toronto and stuck in the position of waiting for replies from people. It's not so much that I'm lacking in initiative, but I don't know where else to look or what else to do. I've tried a couple of big retail stores around my area, one has replied (interviewed) and the other hasn't. Maybe its my lack of work experience or my interviews just aren't quite cutting it. Questions like "How should you deal with the public" seem so simple to answer, but I don't know if they're looking for me to say something in particular. And now I'm sitting here on the computer every weekend for around 3 hours, when I could be using that to earn some money. Sad huh? |

Just apply at different places. If you haven't had much work experience, when you fill out the questions don't focus on that. You really have to say nice things about yourself (which can sometimes be hard). If you haven't had much work experience, instead of saying "I know I haven't had a job, but..." tell them what you were doing instead of working, like if you were volunteering or helping someone out...
