I'm in dire need of a job this year and I was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions on general places that would be hiring, or just put your 2 cents on my situation.

I'm in Toronto and stuck in the position of waiting for replies from people. It's not so much that I'm lacking in initiative, but I don't know where else to look or what else to do. I've tried a couple of big retail stores around my area, one has replied (interviewed) and the other hasn't.

Maybe its my lack of work experience or my interviews just aren't quite cutting it. Questions like "How should you deal with the public" seem so simple to answer, but I don't know if they're looking for me to say something in particular.

And now I'm sitting here on the computer every weekend for around 3 hours, when I could be using that to earn some money. Sad huh?

I'm in Toronto too. Try malls; I just got a job at Yorkdale. People here look for the best person for the position and rarely contact people without job experience. I had just recently worked at my parents' store and I put that down as well as tidied up my resume and I was contacted. You really have to drop resumes off at more than a few retail stores.

Good luck though.
