about 15 seconds for a less-serious one (fades away in a couple days), 30 seconds+ for week+. of course it depends on how hard you suck, but that's kinda difficult to describe online.
i got a 30+ one, it was f**king ginormous and lasted FOREVER. i couldn't get rid of it or cover it up; it looked like someone punched me in the neck. a lot of guys stopped hitting on me after i came back from that school trip though, lol... i was such a retard.
