how often do you trim your nails? do ya get 'em done professionally?

I file my nails down to shape every month or so - they don't grow that fast but they're brittle and get out of the right shape easily.
I'd get professional french manicures if money grew on trees.. around here they're kind of expensive  So I stick to the DIY ones. |
