Collection Agency sending me letters, that i need to pay such and such debt?

I don't know, don't you have to be over 18 to be contacted by the Collection Agency
It's probably a stupid question.

My dad had bought me this excersise machine so i can keep fit
so he paid for it with his Debit Card, & i signed up for an online account(free)
So i could buy stuff online from them, and get like health tips, whatever.

and about a year later(now) they're sending ME a National Collection Agency letter informing me that my name has been sent to them and only my response can take my name off of that.

but, my dad already paid it, it was 3 monthly payments
and they went through, although that was a year and some days ago,
we don't have the Bank Statements for that, and then months later we
lost the Debit Card and got a new one.

This is bullshit, lolz.

my little sister was like " haha, you're not even 18, and you have bad credit "

?? lol..

I'm confused.

I just want to know, is that even possible? I'm only 17, they need to leave me alone. lol I don't work, shit. lol

you dont have to be 18 to have bad credit (or good credit). the only reason underage people usually have no credit at all is because of just that fact. they dont have credit. anything you try to buy or sign up for that requires a credit check will probably have to be cosigned for by one of your parents. it's harder to buy something that requires good credit if you have no credit at all. i mean it's even easier to get it if you have relatively BAD credit.

however, it's not impossible to have bad credit before you're 18. if you owe money to someone, you owe money. Collections is allowed to contact you at that point. Being 18 has nothing to do with it.

but if your dad bought the thing and he already paid for it, you shouldnt even be affected at all. are you sure that that's what they're asking for?
