i know how to do this in paintshop pro, but right now im using photoshop. how do you make an image black and white but have something thats still colored? like the lips or dress or hair or something.

You can open two documents of that image, grayscale one, then copy the coloured one onto the grayscaled one so that it's a new layer and then switch the layers. What she said is also the easiest way for me as well. Also, use a hard round brush. I think it's easier than the lasso tool, but whatever floats your boaaaat.
