With the recent Kennedy-Bush alliance (polar opposites at that) for the naturalization of illegal immigrants, a lot of people have come out strongly opposed to the idea and are quite unhappy that bush just brought it back up after the idea was killed.
Is there anyone out there that thinks it should be something that happens? If yes, please explain as I'm curious to see if there is another side (other than the politicians) to this issue and I want to know what makes you see it that way or where your opinions are derived from. Keeping in mind taxes, social security (haha as if that's going to last), unemployment, and them taking advantage of what's free in the nation (i.e. medicine/education) without putting back into the system. |

K since people are such crappy debaters, I'll give it a shot.
I agree with what you've said about most of the things you've said, but the learning Spanish thing I find ridiculous. English is the business language, of the world. Why should we go out of our way to learn Spanish when the primary necessity to know Spanish goes to people who are employing laborers that work in kitchens and construction. I hate to be stereotypical, but that's where the majority of the illegals work. Also, if they're going to come to our country to learn, we shouldn't have to learn Spanish so we can suit the needs of people who snuck over here illegally. Yes getting a Visa can be hard, so instead of everyone coming over here for a better life, they can start working on their own country. I know they live in oppression, poverty, yadda yadda, w/e. They can still start to make their country better. Their government's bad? Organize a resistance. You know I think I've already voiced everything and I'm repeating myself right now, but on I go. Anyways, moving on. Even if they don't notice a change right away, if they keep working at it, and get everyone working at it, their country can become better. It may take several generations, but if they don't do it because of that, it's their selfish fault. People can't just expect their lives to be better all of a sudden. But anyways, I don't feel it should be the United States' responsibility to police the rest of the world or have to take care of the rest of the world. I mean, for Christ's sake, they hate us. Why should we go out of our way to be nice to people. I've got an isolationists ideas in mind right now, but don't think we should totally isolate ourselves like we've done with exception of war time before WWII. We need to maintain trading relations, and keep trading and push for a profit instead of continually pushing ourselves into debt, but that's a different debate and runs deep in the government and bureaucracy. Anyways, I feel I'm ranting now, so I'll wait for a response to what I've said to continue |
