A/W 2007, what's in? Options

It's getting close to September, which means we have to start getting out our fall/winter clothing. So what's in for you this fall/winter? With the A/W 2007 season over by...May? These are the styles that are going to be in.

1) Cocooning, or Cocoon-shaped Fashion


so the loose shapes and tunics are still in! :D

2) Lingerie, or the Exposed Bra


bring out your bustiers and corsets!

3) The Bold Shoulder


please no shoulder pads!

4) Diamonds!, actually, Quilting


kinda old lady? i'm not too sure.

5) Ombré, the shading


some of it's quite nice, but it reminds me of tiedye.

6) Plaid


loves it! except for the chanel boots.

7) Moiré, the pattern



8) Fur


but of course, what kind of collection is an A/W collection if it doesn't have fur??


so what do you all think about the what's in on runway compared to what's in your A/W wardrobe?

You never know! Fashion is what the designer makes of it...and eventually, the wearer. Just because a designer showcases a sheer top with an exposed bra doesn't mean that's how the look is supposed to go. Purchase that sheer top, but pair it with a simple white or bone cami instead of the bra. Et voila! The looks the designers come up with are just for inspiration, it's not a binding contract that one thing must be paired with the other.
Eventually this stuff will be trickled into the mainstream, but not right now. Take skull scarves for a look. I remember like 2 or 3 years ago when Alexander McQueen showcased his fabulous skull scarves and everyone from Kate Moss to Nicole Riche were seen wearing them. Then I walk into a Wet Seal last year and see...yup...a skull scarf. Face it. What you buy at the department stores and other stores, regardless of how expensive, garments in that store have some how been influenced by fashion designers.
True, you probably won't see some of the avant garde pieces that some designers create. Even though you may not see a full cut cocoon jacket, the shape and fullness of it may be influenced. :)
