It's getting close to September, which means we have to start getting out our fall/winter clothing. So what's in for you this fall/winter? With the A/W 2007 season over by...May? These are the styles that are going to be in.

1) Cocooning, or Cocoon-shaped Fashion

so the loose shapes and tunics are still in! :D

2) Lingerie, or the Exposed Bra

bring out your bustiers and corsets!

3) The Bold Shoulder

please no shoulder pads!

4) Diamonds!, actually, Quilting

kinda old lady? i'm not too sure.

5) Ombré, the shading

some of it's quite nice, but it reminds me of tiedye.

6) Plaid

loves it! except for the chanel boots.

7) Moiré, the pattern

8) Fur

but of course, what kind of collection is an A/W collection if it doesn't have fur??

so what do you all think about the what's in on runway compared to what's in your A/W wardrobe?

wait. is this supposed to be for everyday wear in the autumn and winter?

i just associated funky, unique styles with haute couture. excuse the ignorance, but if it isn't hc, then is it everyday wear or some sort of happy medium?

edit: http://www.style.com/slideshows/standalone...507HUNT/03m.jpg hahaha omgsh she is carrying a brain. that's awesome.

Well not EVERY fashion show is Haute Couture!!! Yes designers have their ready-to-wear shows (pret-a-porter) and some select few have a Haute Couture show (also most designers are incorporating a seperate resort show). Only the fashion elite can call themselves Haute Couture. Why? Well because there are REQUIREMENTS to show a Haute collection! Be warned...it's a long ass list:

1. A business must belong to the Syndical Chamber for Haute Couture in Paris, which is regulated by the French Department of Industry members.
2. The employment of at least 20 production people in the House workshop.
3. Presenting a collection of at least 50 new passages (a number of dresses designed around a single theme and shown at the same time) at a show for the press in Paris at least twice a year.
4. It is also required to show the two collections to clients in a specially arranged salon in the Couture House.
5. If there are new fashion houses, the criteria are to be met during the two-year transition period by employing at least 10 production people in the house workshop and presenting a collection of 25 passages to the press. However, for existing Houses who want to establish an Haute Couture presence, the criteria are to employ a minimum of 15 production people in the House workshop and then present to the press a collection of at least 35 passages.

Whew! Thats a ton of stuff! See, not all designers are Haute designers. The only Houses that currently are official members are: Chanel, Christian Dior, Nina Ricci, Versace, Armani and Gucci. A bunch of others are new members and are currently trying to become official.
Get to know your fashion before you post people!!!
