i'm 25, and got married @ 24.
it doesn't matter about age, it matters about maturity. i may have thought that at 22 i'd be ready, or even at 18 to my high school sweetheart, but.... with life comes experience, and with experience comes knowledge. i'm perfectly glad i waited until 24 to get married. and it wasn't the AGE that made me want to get married it was the person, and the commitment we both wanted to make to each other. married at 16? don't you need parents consent to do that? and both of the parents? if the dad is pissed, how did they get away with legally getting married? i don't see how getting married at 16 is relatively smart anyhow, seeing as how you really can't even get pierced or tattooed or buy a pack of cigarettes, or alcohol, or rent a car at 16. |
