What do you look for when deciding how good of a tip a waiter gets?
I see how many of the free appetizers they bring me rofl. Outback Steakhouse bread. Mexican restaurants, better keep the salsa/guacamole sauce filled. Italian restaurants, I want a lot of bread/oil. Oh man, what if someone was a great waiter, and you left them a tip on the receipt that said "Brush your teeth before you go to bed" |

i tip at least $2, regardless of what my meal costs. if its a $5 meal, i still tip $2 (and yeah, there are restaurants with nice food for $5!). if it's $10, i'll give $3 or so. if it's in the $15-20 range, i'll give probably $5. i thinkk i'm pretty generous with tipping. i don't really ever eat at restaurants that cost over $10 in general though.
i work in a restaurant and visit every single table to offer more free food, drinks, and just to be at each customer's beck and call like every 5-10 minutes. i get tipped nothing. -shrug it's hard work. waiters at other restaurants definitely should get tipped. at mine, getting no tips as a breadgirl is the norm. |
