how would i delete the picture in the extended network area in this layout so the default extended network with words shows up

well you need to respect other designers work. If you take out their pictures thats against the createblog terms of use and you can get into big trouble.
If you want to remove an extended network on a layout that you made and coded this code will work CODE <style type="text/css">.blacktext12 {visibility:hidden; display:none}</style><br />
