Ok, Don't you hate if you had an ex give you an apology after a long period of time of ignoring and when you are over him/her? Then all the pain just comes back?

At first, all the bad memories and the anger come back out but after the initial flood of emotions, it gets better. In my personal experience, getting an apology that is too late is better than not getting one at all.
