Crying

Caressing tears
Run down my cheek
Your shadow’s fading fast
I stand here broken
No words to be spoken, you’re
Gone…

Book Of Sorrow

Shattered pieces of
A broken soul
Litter a body
That once was whole

Empty now with
No place to turn
The fire rages
As the pages burn

Book of sorrow
Anger and tears
Lost in the flames
Of her undying fears

The final chapter
No more to be said
Swallowed by the fire
She's better off dead

Beautiful You

I fell in line
With one single step
And I denied
That I ever wept

I was torn away
From the person I knew
When I got caught up
In beautiful you

Was forgotten, undone
With a single teardrop
But, now that we're here
I don't want it to stop

I lost myself
In the blink of an eye
And followed the road
That led to the sky

Beautiful Dreamer

Beautiful dreamer
So misunderstood
Wanders the forest
In her cloak and her hood

Silently crying
For all that she's lost
She denies all she feels
No matter the cost

Broken and shattered
She flees from the truth
Shaking and trembling
And hiding the proof

Tears, like a river
Flow from her eyes
As she hides behind
Her only disguise

Beautiful dreamer
So young and uncertain
Tries to pretend
That she's really not hurting

Barely

Barely a whisper swept
Away on a breeze
Pushing against reality
Dropping to their knees

Barely a somebody whose
Time ended way too soon
Leaning into the wind
Her soul reflected in the moon

Barely fit in the palm of her
Daddy's weathered hand
They close their eyes trying
Desperately to understand

Barely had a moment
To cradle her tiny form
Kiss away her pain and
Keep her safe and warm

Angel

Angel of peace
I crave for your touch
I’m broken and bleeding
And in need of so much

Angel of sorrow
There’s so much to say
I never knew it could
End up this way

Angel of mercy
I’m so tired of it all
I’m ready to give up
And ready for the fall

Angel of darkness
Go far from this heart
You’re wicked and ruthless
And you tear me apart

You

Can you make a stone bleed
The way you bled my soul?
Do you like the power you have
Do you enjoy the control?
Does it make you happy
When I break down and cry
From all the things you do to me
That make me want to die?
Should I pretend it doesn't hurt
When you treat me this way?
Should I continue living
And go on with my day?
Every sacrifice I have made
Has been in vain for you
I can't take this suffering
But what am I to do?
I’m lost inside my feelings
But they don't matter anymore
Because every time I let them out
They just hurt me even more

United We Stand

United we stand
Divided we fall
Some days it’s hard
Making sense
Of it all

Let freedom ring
Is the creed we abide
But we can’t agree
And set
Our anger aside

We march into battle
With tears on our face
Praying that He
Will keep us
All in His grace

While our children pay
For the price of our sin
We fall to
The ground as
The battles begin

United we stand
Divided we fall
Denying the truth
To make sense
Of it all

The Hangman’s Despair

Tethered and torn
On the old tree he hangs
A lifetime of regrets
Leave their mark on his face

Whipped by despair
Broken by his fears
There’s no one around now
To catch his lonely tears

Scarred and alone
He says his goodbyes
To the world he once knew
As he softly cries

With a rope around his neck
He makes the sacrifice
Jumps to his death
And takes his own life

She

She stares at her reflection
In the cracked and dusty mirror
She traces the lines in her face
And sheds a broken tear
A lifetime of memories
Shine bright inside her eyes
The hope she held for her children
The torn and hollow lies
She reaches out her hand
And touches the image she sees
Wishing for a way to go back
And cure this old disease
She can't help but wonder
What good her life has been
Did she make a difference
Or would she have to begin again
Did she teach her children
All she had to give
After she had gone away
Would they know how to live

Save Me

Save me from these demons
That haunt my mind so deep
And try to reveal the secrets
That I try so hard to keep

Save me from the echo
Of voices I can't stand to hear
They whisper softly in my head
And resurrect my fear

Save me from myself
For only I hold the keys
To a lifetime of choices
And the painful memories

Save me from the future
Protect me from my past
Help me escape the present
I don't want this pain to last

Save me from the guilt
That makes me feel so unsure
Help me to forget
That I couldn't save... her

Whispers Of Truth

Whispers of truth follow like a shadow on the ground
The pale glow of the moonlight sheds reality on his dreams
Tears of rain fall damp against his cheeks
As he sees her face swim before his eyes
She’s carved her beauty upon his soul
Holding head in hands, he falls to his knees
He cannot, will not, let her go…

Haunting visions flash like lightning across his mind
Restlessness has become his only friend
Longing for some release from the pain deep within his heart
He runs his fingers through his hair
Stares down at her grave
He cannot, will not, let her go…

“How will I survive this world without you?” he whispers
Clutching the pale rose in his hand, his knuckles turn white
Gently he places it on the ground near her tombstone
Takes a step back, reads what it says
“Peace is with her, she’s taken flight”
He cannot, will not, let her go…

“You need to, have to, let her go” the voice tickles his ear
“I can’t!” he cries
"You must”
“Take me too” he pleads
“I cannot, you are needed here”
“Without her, I am nothing” he hits the ground again
He cannot, will not, let her go…

Laughter echoes in the back of his mind
A sound long forgotten, blocked by bitter memories
“He needs you” the voice whispers
His son’s face flashes before his eyes now
Beautiful, innocent
“He needs you”
His voice wavers, “he needs me”
“I love you” he whispers, blowing gentle kisses to the wind
He can, he has, let her go…

When Kingdoms Fall

War and anger
Blood and tears
Threats and hatred
Build our fears

Fight to survive
Survive to fight
It’s an endless circle
With no end in sight

Shadows fall upon
The ground we tread
If you speak your mind
You'll wind up dead

Marching into battle
With guns raised high
Pretend not to notice
The tears the children cry

Forget the peace
We've tried to instill
In the hearts of men
Who would rather kill

Should this be
The end of it all
Will all our kingdoms
On earth fall

Into a world
Of anger, blood, and tears
Lost in the hatred
Haunted by our fears
