I came across a post that said exactly what the topic title says, and not wanting to go too off topic, I chose to post a thread here in Feedback rather than respond to it in the actual thread itself.
Um, hate to break it to you but because someone has a history of not following the rules does not give you the right to treat them in a way that is different than everyone else. Your suggestion that "if you all just followed the rules, everyone would be treated equally" is a load of crap. This kind of logic only applies in the real world when theres Authoritarianism/Totalitarianism involved, and we all know how those types of governments turned out in the past, kthx. I also want to add, the kind of people that make up rules as they go along and enforce them retroactively to excuse them from wrongfully penalizing people that have done nothing wrong have been known in society as Dictators or Tyrants. I want you to think about that. |

I also want to say that I wasnt referring to any terms of punishment when i started this thread.
I meant that people who have applied for staff positions should all be considered equally, and not pre-judged on the basis that they have broken certain rules in the past, while a number of moderators currently on staff have broken the same rules. |
