I came across a post that said exactly what the topic title says, and not wanting to go too off topic, I chose to post a thread here in Feedback rather than respond to it in the actual thread itself.
Um, hate to break it to you but because someone has a history of not following the rules does not give you the right to treat them in a way that is different than everyone else. Your suggestion that "if you all just followed the rules, everyone would be treated equally" is a load of crap. This kind of logic only applies in the real world when theres Authoritarianism/Totalitarianism involved, and we all know how those types of governments turned out in the past, kthx. I also want to add, the kind of people that make up rules as they go along and enforce them retroactively to excuse them from wrongfully penalizing people that have done nothing wrong have been known in society as Dictators or Tyrants. I want you to think about that. |

Being wrong =/= breaking a rule.
Unfortunate, but there it is. Punishing someone more than once =/= persecution. Not even unfortunate. |

Being wrong =/= breaking a rule. Unfortunate, but there it is. Being wrong in the administration of a punishment = Abuse QUOTE Punishing someone more than once =/= persecution. Not even unfortunate. Being incorrect in punishing someone repeatedly, acknowledging that mistakes were made, but refusing to apologize = persecution |

Being wrong in the administration of a punishment = Abuse Being incorrect in punishing someone repeatedly, acknowledging that mistakes were made, but refusing to apologize = persecution Being wrong in the administration of a punishment = Making a mistake = Life. Being incorrect in punishing someone repeatedly, acknowledging that mistakes were made, but refusing to apologize = Rude, and somewhat pigheaded. Rude and somewhat pigheaded, while again unfortunate, is just that. Some people are that way. So don't like them. That's all it has to be. Trish, I know you weren't making it about punishment, but the principle you espouse is equally applicable there. Furthermore, the fact that people don't get hired doesn't mean that they weren't considered at all. That doesn't follow. |
